Best power rack value around, July 22, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Power Rack (Misc.) This rack is a cut way above anything you can find under $1000. The quality and stability is much better than the usual garbage that you'd find at the big box stores or on most fitness websites. It's a no-nonsense piece of strength training equipment you'll have for life. The picture does not do it justice. I recommend this over the lower priced 2" post version that TDS sells as the extra 1/2" adds considerable weight to the rack, keeping it in place for chins and heavy thick bar work.
Given the stability of this rack, I'm not sure there is much need to go with the ultra-heavy duty 3" titan rack that TDS also offers. I guess if you are using it for olympic lifts or partial deadlifting over 1000 lbs. it might be a better choice.
It is difficult to assemble alone, but possible. You will definitely save some sweat if you can conscript a friend into helping. On the other hand, putting this together alone will be your first hard workout on the rack.

I looked at every single power rack around and couldn't make up my mind. I was going for the most bang for my buck because this was going in a home gym. Easy to assemble, very wide and deep, and very sturdy. On a side note I looked at some other equipment I have and it's TDS stuff also. If you're on the fence about gettting a power rack, don't be, this is the absolute best one for under $1000. This is gym quality, and I've owned it for about 4 months.
